FF’sD live in Paris, June 30th!! Don’t miss it!
It’s been a long time since the last post, but www.snowbroader.eu is taking most of our time and energy
However an important news chafouincrew-wise is that since a couple of weeks Remi and Zit have found a solution to make their Boolimix radio shows, party mixes and more available for download on their blog.
Mellow reggae vibes, funky tracks or disco hits, it’s a treat for every avid music lover!

Last WE in Lyon, a lot was happening : Fetes des Lumieres, David’s birthday, chafouincrew and BrOADER meeting!
The best way is to celebrate with a Boolimix party on the Sirius boat. Classical funky beats, and mellow atmosphere, it was 4 o’clock before we even had time to say booooooolimix baby!
Pics are here! If you want high res. drop a mail.
Merci Tienne Tienne NatNat c t un bon WE!!!
Just bought a video Ipod in NY…it rocks! Read this really interesting story on the birth of the Ipod in this month’s Wired mag!
Union Square is a super lively place in the heart on NY. There’s guy there trying to write himself in the Guiness book of records for the most push-ups with people on his back, there are skateboarders, dog walkers, tourists, t-shirts and art sellers…it’s a non stop action place where sometimes there are also mellow reggae vibes!
Beck has a new record out. But here is my favorite of his video clips : dance robot syle!
Urban art and expression celebration in the Grand Palais in Paris this WE. Here is a video with bits and pieces : C2C DJing (these guys are4 times world champions!), human beat box, battles, graph, skate and BMX…

Do you know Sarko? In 2007, France will have a new President, and Sarko is today Minister of homeland affairs. Known for his radars on the streets, over mediatisation, pro-americanism, police scandals…he’ll probably end up winning the next elections…
So here’s our first odeo post with Sarko skanking his lyrics.
If you wanna fun, click on the odeo button on the left side, and leave us a cool voice message!
I was listening to Radio Nova on the way to the job, an acoustic performance of Creep from Radiohead was playing. Max spoke about a really cool animation clip made using this acoustic version. I found it on youtube (rich bast*rds), it’s great work and here it is :
Directed by Michel Gondry who’s film The Science of Sleep is in theater right now, Dave Chapelle’s block party features Chappelle during the fall of 2004 when he threw a block party in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City. He invited several alternative hip hop and neo-soul musical artists to perform at the party, including Kanye West, Mos Def, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, and The Roots along with The Central State University Marching Band. Lauryn Hill was also scheduled to perform at the party, but since Columbia Records refused to release her songs for use in the production, she decided instead to reunite The Fugees for the occasion.
Remember them? Well they are back!
This event is happening in Maribor next WE. Get out there for some bike fights, freestyle action, skateboard contest, break dance show and live concerts!

A documentary about the history of punk rock in America from 1980-1986. Generally unheralded at the time, the early 1980s hardcore punk rock scene gave birth to much of the rock music and culture that followed. There would be no Nirvana, Beastie Boys or Red Hot Chili Peppers were it not for hardcore pioneers such as Black Flag, Bad Brains and Minor Threat. Hardcore was more than music, it was a social movement created by Reagan-era misfit kids. The participants constituted a tribe unto themselves, some finding a voice, others an escape in the hard-edged music. And while some sought a better world, others were just angry and wanted to raise hell. “American Hardcore” traces this lost subculture, from its early roots in 1980 to its extinction in 1986.
Are you Boolimix too? If yes you have to listen to the last Boolimix radio show of the summer here AND here tonight (starts at 9pm GMT). Otherwise chech out this little tribute musical slide show below and to take home with you download the most steroid packed funky disco mixtape on the loungebox site! Boolimix baby!

I found this live of Sublime on youtube. Sublime is my favorite all time band. Too many memories listening to their songs. Since the death of Bradley Novell, the lead singer and song writer, Sublime has become some kind of cult band.

We spend a incredible WE in Brussels at Erwann and Delphine’s place. The weather was perfect the whole time so we enjoyed their garden and had some nice BBQs going. In fact we were there mainly for the Couleur Cafe festival. The setting of the festival is amazing and the atmosphere there was super relaxed. On the 2 evenings we went there, we had the chance to see big names like James Brown, Gilberto Gil, Gilles Peterson, Burning Spears, or Lee Scratch Perry, but also some less known promising bands like the partyful mexican ska band Los de Abajo, or local band The Peas Project. But maybe the highlight of the WE for us frenchy out there was the football game against Brasil! We watched it on a big screen at the festival and cheered among the mostly brasilian crowd. It’s was good fun and good atmosphere…and we must admit a crazy win for France!!! Some action pics here.
Fat Freddys Drop concert on tuesday night was perfect!
Perfect place – Cabaret Sauvage rocks + they have a BBQ
Perfect atmosphere – Heavy positive vibes, and smiles on everybody’s face! (I guess the win for France against Spain helped everybody relax!)
Perfect sound – smooth, mellow, ska-isch, funky music with a nice heavy base that put you in a dancing mood
Some pics here or just click play below.
Oh and check out also the website of Son of Dave who opened up the show. This is the stage name of Benjamin Darvill, ex band member of Crash Test Dummies. He’s doing a one man band gig with sampled sound which just kills it rythm ‘n’ blues style.

Donavon Frankenreiter is a talended freesurfer. When he was a kid he was staying at Jack Johnson’s house in Hawaii… Now Donavon is known all over the world for his music! A couple of weeks ago he released his second album entitled ‘Move by yourself’. A mixture of fresh funky tunes and surf vibes, this album has songs which make you want to moooove! That’s what we plan to do on June 28th because we are going to his concert in Paris!! You should too!
Listen to some of his songs here, and watch his videos on his website.
We used one of his songs from his first album on a easy riding video from Daka last winter.

Fat Freddys Drop must be part of our top 5 favorite bands. This crew from New Zealand produces a heavy, soulfull, mellow sound which just puts you in a happy mood.
We had the chance to see them in a showcase once allready last december, but this time it’s the real thing: they are coming for a concert in Paris on June 27th! Grab a ticket here (it’s only 19 euros) and meet us there!
You can listen to some of their music on their my space page, check out radio fitchie here, or just press on play below!
